Dal Dohkli is a Gujarati dish but it is also cooked in some parts of north India too it is one pot-dish meal and my ddaughter’sfavourite dish she loves it like ———-
DAL DOHKLI
For dough
1 cup Atta (whole wheat flour)
1/2 cup besan(chickpeas flour)
2 tsp oil
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
salt
For dal
1 cup arahar dal/toor dal(yellow pigeon pea)
1 pinch hing
1 tbsp peanut
1.2 tsp tamarind pulp
1/2 tsp turmeric
salt
For tempering
2 tbsp ghee
1/2 tsp jeera (cumin seed)
2 whole red chilli
1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste
For Garnishing
1 small chopped onion
chopped green chilli
chopped fresh coriander
lemon
How to make
For the dough mix all the ingredients add water and make a soft dough ., roll out the dough into a thick round shape roti and cut the chapatti into diamond or square shapes or as you like
.. In a pressure cooker boil the dal with 2 cups water add turmeric and hing, and salt when it starts boiling
add dhoklis one by one into the dal otherwise it will stick k, add more water add tamarind pulp, peanut. Now another pan heat ghee add jeera and whole red chilli The cumin gets brown add ginger and garlic fry and add in dal pressure cook for 2 whistles. remove from fire and take out in bow now time to serve garnish with chopped onion green chilli, fresh coriander and lemon juice. enjoy.
