DAL ka kofta
lentil kofta curry is very tasty and delicious curry dish.
What we need
Red lentil (whole masoor) 1cup soaked,
Turmeric 1/2 tsp
Ginger 1 inch
Garlic 3-4 clove
green chilli 4 ( you can use more if you want hot)
oil 1 tsp.
salt to taste.
FOR CURRY
Tomato 2 large
Onion 1 big
Ginger 1/2 inch
Garlic 2
Curd 3 tbsp
Turmeric 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder 2 tsp
Red chilli powder 1 tsp
garam masala 1/2 tsp
cumin seed 4/tsp
Hing 1 pinch (asafoetida)
Whole dry red chilli 2
Oil 2 tbsp
Salt
How to make
Grind lentil, ginger, garlic, green chilli together do not grind very fine little coarse make a thick paste do not add the little water if you need.Make thick paste.
In the same jar, you can grind tomato, onion ginger, garlic for curry .and keep aside.
Now add salt and turmeric in lentil paste mix well to make a kofta ball and steam you can use a rice cooker for steam if you want .steam for 20 minutes after 20-minute check it is done or not if not steam some more time.
when it is done take out in a plate and cool it.In a pan heat 1 tsp. oil, when oil is hot, add kofta sauté 4-5 minute.
Now for curry heat oil in a pan add cumin seeds and whole red chilli when cumin start crackling, add tomato, onion, ginger ,garlic paste now add turmeric coriander powder, red chilli powder, garam masala, salt and cook till colour changes add curd cook till dry add 1 glass water (depend on how much curry you want) bring to boil then add kofta ball and cook for 10 minutes on medium heat.when it is done sprinkle kasoori methi or chopped fresh coriander.Serve hot with rice or roti.
