Red lentil dal / Masoor Dal Healthy Thali

Ingredients
For the Dal:
½ cup red lentil/masoor dal
1 tomato chopped
½ onion chopped
1 tomato chopped
2 green chilli chopped
½ inch ginger chopped
2 clove garlic chopped
½ teaspoon Coriander powder
¼ teaspoon red chilli powder
½ teaspoon turmeric powder
1 tablespoon ghee or oil
Salt to taste
½ teaspoon mix spices /Garam masala
For Tempering (Tadka)
1 tbsp ghee or oil
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1/3 teaspoon red chilli powder
1 pinch asafoetida/Hing
How to make
Stovetop Method
Prep the Dal:
Firstly, clean and wash dal and soak in water for 10 minutes.
Cook the Base:
Heat ghee in a pan add cumin seeds, slit green chilli, onion,ginger-garlic sauté until onion become light brown.
<em&gt;Add Spice</strong>s & Tomato:</em>
Add chopped tomato when tomato becomes soft, now add turmeric powder, Coriander powder stir.</p>
<em>Add Dal & Simmer:
Drain the soaked dal and add it to the pan. Mix well and add 2 cups of water and salt.
Cook on medium heat until the dal softens (about 15–20 minutes).
Prepare Tempering:
Heat ghee or oil in a small pan, add cumin seeds when cumin crackle, turn off the flame, add asafoetida and red chilli powder. Pour this tempering over the cooked dal.
Garnish & Serve:
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves. Serve hot with steamed rice or roti.
Red lentil dal curry
Ingredients
- ½ cup red lentil/masoor dal

- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1/3 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1 pinch asafoetida/Hing
- Salt
Instructions
- Heat oil in the microwave-safe bowl on high for 16 seconds open add chopped onion, green chillies chopped ginger and garlic micro again 2 minutes. Now stir put turmeric coriander powder and chopped tomato cook 1 minutes. Add soaked dal with 2 cups water add salt cover and set the microwave on for 15 minutes keep stirring every 5 minutes.
Microwave Method
Microwave Cooking is a quick and easy, and hassle-free way of cooking.
In a microwave-safe bowl, heat 1 tbsp oil on high for 16 seconds.
Add chopped onion, green chillies, ginger, and garlic. Microwave on high for 2 minutes.
Stir in turmeric, coriander powder, and chopped tomato. Cook for 1 minute.
Add soaked dal, 2 cups water, and salt. Cover and microwave for 15 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes.
Add garam masala at the end and mix. For tempering, microwave cumin in ghee separately and pour over dal.
