Tamarind chutney
Tamarind chutney is very simple and delicious Indian sauce.Tamarind chutney has sweet and sour and bit of spicy taste. You can serve almost with every Indian snack.
what we need
1/2 Cup tamarind seedless
1 Cup chopped dates
1 Cup brown sugar or jaggery
1 Teaspoon red chilli powder
1 Teaspoon roasted cumin powder
4 Cup hot water
salt
For tempering
1 TTeaspoonoil
1/2 Teaspoon. Anise/ saunf
1 Pinch asafoetida/ Hing
How to make
Soak date in 4 cup water for 15 minutes add tamarind and boil together until dates become soft. Remove from heat and cool completely then blend to make a smooth purée. through the strainer. Heat the oil in a pan add saunf and hing. add purée let it boil now add salt, red chilli, cumin powder, brown sugar/jaggery .boil on the medium flame for 5-7 minutes turn off the heat and cool at room temperature and store in glass jar.
