Karonda/Natal plum has some medicinal benefits. Karonda helps to cure worms, fungal infections and many more. Karonda comes from berry family it can be used for making pickles, chutney, jam. Personally, I like to make pickle and chutney. So let’s try my way of Karonda Mirch Ginger ACHAR Recipe
Karonda Mirch Ginger ACHAR Recipe
Ingredient:
- 150-gm. Karonda /Natal plum
- 50 gm. green chilli
- 20 gm. ginger
- 1 cup mustard oil
- 1.5 tsp fennel seeds/saunf1 tsp fenugreek seeds/methi
- 1 tsp mustard seed crushed
- 1 /4 tsp kalonji/Nigella seeds
- ½ tsp Asafoetida/Hing powder
- Salt to taste
Method:
Wash karonda, green chilli, ginger. Slice karonda and remove seeds slice green chilli in lengthwise chop ginger and let it dry in air for 2-3 hours. Heat ½ cup oil and cool it slightly. Add turmeric and chilli powder, hing and mix add chopped green chilli, chopped ginger, karonda and all spices and salt mix well transfer into a glass jar Pickle are ready to eat goes well with paratha and any Indian meal. If you want to store 2-3 month keep in the sun for 2-3 days
